Celluloid Charm: Asian Theactrical Player

Before this charm arrived I thought it was a turtle, it was hard to figure out exactly what it was from a small photo and now that it's here, I still can't figure it out!! Perhaps because of the two legs and the shoes; and because the Japanese are such a cultured people, it's actually a man wearing a costume and mask for a play or celebration!!!

In case I'm wrong, I've pictured this charm in the meadow as if it were a bug!! It's always good to have a back up plan! :)
