I'm quite intriqued by a circle/dot pattern the Japanese repeat over and over on the clothing of the many of the charms as apparent on this Santa's pants. I have been studying this by examining thousands of charms and discovered it is something added when they started molding the loop right into the design rather than adding the metal one upon completion as was done initially. This is a good indicator to me if a plastic loop has broken and a metal one was added in it's place.
