Celluloid Charm: Babushka

Oh how I appreciate this charm!! Just the voluminous cheeks alone are enough to delight the collector but those kissy lips, oh how fun the kissy lips!!

For those who are not familiar with a Babushka, it's the name for a scarf worn intially by Russian women, eventually even referring to the woman as the Babushka. In the forties and fities a woman wearing a scarf was haute couture!

Celluloid Charm: RARE Art Deco Lady

Art Deco (/ˌɑrt ˈdɛkoʊ/), or Deco, is an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France after World War I, flourishing internationally in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s before its popularity waned after World War II.[1] It is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with Machine Age imagery and materials. The style is often characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes, and lavish ornamentation.

During its heyday, Art Deco represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress. WIKI

This charm is such a delight, she personifies the Art Deco era, which was the time the celluloid charms were being produced.
